Life is a serious but eternal topic for people because life to each person only has once. Everyone has its own life track from birth to death, however, there are some pivotal points, which contribute a lot to our life quality such as family, university, spouse and work. As we know, each life starts from one family, but people can't choose their families, where they were born. On the contrary, we can study hard to choose our favourite major and university and work hard to take good job. 

In a whole life, it can usually be divided into 6 key phases according to one Chinese old saying. We are so weak that we can't protect ourselves under the age of 20s.  When we reach 30s, we are old enough to build our own families. In 40s, we have solid relationship with others and don't have too much puzzle. In 50s, we start to confess my fate and try to get along with others. In 60s and 70s, we enjoy our own life.

In my opinion, life is the process of exchanging energy. It is obvious we have to eat food every day so that we can grow and survive from a baby to an adult, however, our mind also needs absorbing new ideas from books and others, and we can become mature and intelligent so fast. Of course, this is the process of exchanging mental energy rather than phyical energy.

Please think for a second to ask ourselves why we join the Toastmasters at the moment when we joined the Toastmasters. We must have something we can't handle in our life or work. For instance, some want to improve public speaking because they are too nervous to speak in the front of people. Some want to work better in a team because they don't know how to communicate with others at work....all of these situations are out of our comfort zone, so we want to be better of ourselves through learning in Toastmasters.

Each of us must have the dream for a successful career. Do we think seriousely how we can realize our dream? In the begining, we have to express ourselves clearly so that others can understand us when we join in a new company. Afterwards, we have to communicate with others because we are working in the networked society. Some years later, we maybe get promoted and we have to lead a team. What's more, we have to manage a company when we run it. When such good chance comes close to us, do we indeed grab them? There are five key aspects for our successful career, namely public speaking, communication, leadership, management and confidence.

By coincidence, there are 11 educational paths in Toastmasters designed for us working in thousands of different fields. But no matter how different we work at the fields, each path can empower us a lot competence of public speaking, interpersonal communication, strategic leadership, management and confidence.
