Why don't you think about the East Hill/Dongshan of Suzhou if
you like hiking? The East Hill is one peninsula located at the
riverside of Tai Lake. It has fabulous landscape and fascinating
cultural sites as well, especially some hiking routes.

One of my favorite hiking routes is called 24 Bends, whose
name came from a legend story. It was said the emperor of Zhu
Yuanzhang in Ming Dynasty had a strange dream that someone would
take place of his emperor. He was so frighted that he sent his
subordinate officer, Liu Baowen, to seek and kill that person in
case his dream came true.
Liu Bowen found 24-Bends area had such a good Geomantic Omen
that an emperor was believed to be produced soon, so he asked
warriors to hit 24 nails in the mountain so as to lock the coming
dragon.

Even though we don't know the story was true or not, it has become one of the most popular hiking routes for local people because of its beauties.

The East Hill has a four-season delicate fruits. On May, the loquat is ripe, but a little early for wax berry.

One and a half hours later, we reached Luxiang ancient village built over 1000 years ago.

We went to Sanshan

Sanshan island is not only a National Geological Park but also a National 5A Scenic Spot.

The ancient Karst Cave demonstrated the human beings must live here over ten thousand years ago.

There are no any industrial sectors on island. Green grass, fruitful trees and fresh air are everywhere.

Tweeting birds, flying butterflies and old houses covered by the green...

If you like a little bit venture, you can ride the motor launches by yourselves in the lake.

The dog in the island seemed to enjoy such a relaxing and
serene lifestyle like people.

Shuang'wan is another ancient Village worth visiting.

Surprised to know there is one Suzhou classical garden called Zuishishanzhuang/Drunk Stone Villa beside the village.

This is about one day tour in the East Hill, but I highly
recommend to stay overnight if you have much more time.
