The Dialogue on City Tourism, the first event to be hosted by
the World Tourism Alliance after its launch in September 2017, took
place on May 29 on the occasion of the International Mayors Forum
on Tourism – Zhengzhou, China 2018.
Over 100 mayors from all over the world were invited to attend
the International Mayors Forum on Tourism on May 28. The most
surprising was that 80 plus of them were from abroad.
Mr. Li Jinzao, vice minister of Cluture & Tourism
Department of China, delivered his speech on the openning ceremony
of the International Mayors Forum.
General speaking, cities are the most important space gathing
for tourists, so it was essential for maoyors to discuss what kinds
of service and faculties they could provide for tourists. Many
cities gave their good examples, but on perfect solution.
During the course of modern tourism development, visitors are
entitled to share; community and business are entitled to growth;
and public sector is obliged to safeguard, coordination, and
sustainable development. As demands and concerns among stakeholders
cannot always reach to a win-win solution, coordination is needed
through dialogue, legislation, regulation and collaboration guided
by up-to-date governance of tourism industry.
The theme of the Dialogue is City Tourism: Coordination, Dialogue and Cooperation among Stakeholders and the Dialogue is committed to facilitating an overall solution on tourism development through communication by stakeholders, such as city, business and visitor which are all involved in the running of tourism industry.
The WTA was new built last Sept and it is the only one international non-government tourism association in China so far. It develops so quickly that it has already 138 members, what's more, most of them are from international communities.
Thanks for all work teams' great job. It is they who made all their efforts to contribute to the healthy & sustainable delevelopment of the WTA.
