It was reported that emperor of South dynasty liked Buddhism very much over 1500 years ago, so Buddhism was very prosperous at that time. Chongyuan Temple was one of 480 temples in South dynasty, even some years eariler than Hanshan Temple.

Chongyuan Temple had been ruined for several times in old times and it started to be rebuilt in 2003 and was completed  in 2007. What's more, the abbot of Hanshan Temple was also nominated as the abbot of Chongyuan Temple.

Chongyuan Temple has been more and more popular since the film celebrating for the new year of 2015 called personal tailor （电影“私人订制”） was shoot in Chongyuan Temple and broadcasted all around China. 

Chongyuan Temple is located in the Southeastern of Yangchenghu lake. It is famous for Goddess of Mercy Pavilion standing in the lake.  

The highest Guanyin boddhisattva inside Goddess of Mercy Pavilion reaches 33 meters at height. Everyone would feel heavenly minded when we look up at Goddess of Mercy from its foot.

It looks like fairyland from the top of Goddess of Mercy Pavilion even though it is heavy moist and foggy.

Mahavira Hall（大雄宝殿） is top 1 biggest  and highest single building in China.

Don't miss vegetarian food in Chongyuan Temple such as noodles, dim sum and so forth.

Of course, Chongyuan Temple can offer accommodation for visitors if they are interested in deep study of Buddhism.

Traffic recomandation: No. 109, 126, 128 of public bus, or drive according to the sign of Chongyuan Temple in the middle ring.
