Suzhou has some other names in the history. One of them is oriental Venice or the oriental water city. They are very popular because almost half of Suzhou covers water. There are some famous lakes and rivers, such as the Grant Canal, Taihu Lake, Yangcheng Lake and Yangze river.

The downtown of old Suzhou is surrounded by the city moat. In fact, one of the best ways to experience Suzhou is to take the boat. We can see different style's bridges across the city moat, hear some interesting stories and local songs related with Suzhou history and culture.
