  The speaker contends that the greatness of individuals can decided only by those who live after them, not by their contemporary. I strongly disagree with this point of view. Although there indeed some greatness of individuals are not be accepted by their contemporary, but there are numerous cases illustrate that a lot of heroes, no matter artists or business model are highly respected by contemporary.

  First, we must admit that some persons’ achievements were not be recognized at their time. Some of this even devoted their lives for the truth. Especially in science realm, this phenomenon is quite common. Take Bruno as an example, his belief that the earth is just one of stars in universe and is not the center of universe. This theory was strongly against the popular idea at that time and be viewed as heresy. Bruno was persecuted by Church and spent 8 years Inquisition and finally be executed with fire. Until many years later, Bruno’s theory be proved correct and people know Bruno was sacrifice his life for truth. Actually , in this realm, a scientific theory be tested to be truth always need time, so it is not wired that some scientists can not be recognized by contemporary.

In art realm, although also some great artists are not gain the masses praise like Van Gogh, a lot of artists actually got the fame what whey deserve at their time. Take Peter Paul Rubens as an example, his arts are representatives of baroque style in Europe which brought him highly reputation. And not only his paintings was be accepted by his contemporary, his personal ability as a diplomat was also win him applauds. And through research his background we know his life is full of luxuries and contentment. In the literature realm, the author Harriet Beecher Stowe who wrote the famous novel the Uncle Tom’s Bin won her extensive attentions. This novel reflected the lives of black slaves in American south propelled the development of abolitionism and was  quickly translated into 37 languages. When American President Abraham Lincoln met Harriet, he said to Harriet Beecher “ so you are the little women who help the great war.”  It can be said Harriet Beecher not only wrote a best-know novel and win high respect from people but also help to propel the development of the society.

  In business realm, today millions of users are using the products of the company which created by business models. For example, Steve Job, who created Apple Computer had brought many products which gave user unimaginable convenience and happiness. Whatever iMAC or Iphone or Ipad, the products have brought a lot of apple fans. Microsoft’s Bill Gate, whose company produce the softwares just almost influence every family has been seen a miracle in business. Moreover, Bill Gate donated all of his fortune to foundation and announced that he will devote to charity. People all over the world has not only view him a business models but also a kindhearted person. Larry Page and Sergey Brin’s company google also be view as a miracle today. Because the search engine company change the way people looking for information. The revolutionary change they bought also won them high praise. Nowadays, so many young founder of company has been view role models and nobody will deny what they have done for the whole world.

   From what has been discussed, we can draw conclusion that although some of people are not accepted by their contemporary, but there are also plenty of celebrities have won a high degree of recognition.
