Government should preserve publicly owned wildness areas in their natural state, even though these areas are often extremely remote and thus accessible to only a few people.

The assertion seems compelling but after serious consideration, we can see this point of view maybe too extreme. As far as I am concerned, whether the government should protect the wildness areas is depend on the complete situation. If the wildness areas have some historical meanings or minority people, or it has affluent natural resources, I think we should try everything to protect it. But when the wildness areas have nothing to cherish, I think, our government should explore it and make good use of it. After all, a lot of people are still homeless today around the whole world.

First, protect the natural resource is a responsibility of our government. Before we discuss if we should protect a wildness area, we should measure the value of the area. If the area has some valuable resources or some rare species , it is no doubt that we should preserve it no matter how far it or how much money we will spend on it. History informs us if we destroy our environment recklessly, we will pay price for it last. Today, whether global warming or depletion of resources are all consequence of over explore of natural resources. What we have done to the earth lead us suffer energy crisis and extreme weathers. So, if we do not pay attention to protect those wildness areas which have abundant resources, we would continue getting punishment again.

 Second, if the wildness land has historic meaning, we should also consider to protect it. For example, some wildness lands have some minority people to live in there and still keep primitive lifestyle which hand down from ancestors. We should also keep it in the original situation. Because this land and minority areas are valuable heritage, it can just serve as a vivid historical textbook for our human being. Through protecting this type of wildness areas, we can sustain the diversity of human culture which is responsibility of  our society.

 However, if the areas is no such kinds of value. I think we should explore it reasonably without any hesitation. Nowadays, we are facing a lot of challenges including population expansion, poor, starving and food crisis. I f we can wisely develop it ,some impressing problems could be solved. For example, if we built some houses for the poor people, they will immediately terminate their homeless life. Reasonable develop these wildness land would bring fortune to our society. Through this way, America has brought us a “wild west”, and China also develop the west and bring successful cases. By the way, even if we have good reason to use these wildness land, we should pay attention to the environmental problems which means we should not bring pollution to our planet.

  From what has been discussed, we could draw a conculusion that if our government should protect the wildness areas is depend on case by case. On one hand , we should protect those wildness areas which are rich in resources and historic meanings. On the other hand, we should develop some barren lands and bring benefits to human beings.
