Tolasana <wbr>天枰式

Name: Tola= balance or scale, asana = pose

 

Technique:

 

·         Sit in Padmasana (Lotus pose).

 

·         Place the palms on the floor, besides the hips.

 

·         Inhale pushes the hands against the floor, contract the abdomen muscles, and slowly lift your lotus up from the floor.

 

·         Hold this asana for comfortably duration how long you can , then exhale lower your legs and buttocks, change the cross of the legs, and repeat for the same length of time.

 

Note: keep your arms straight, and keep your shoulders relaxed, use the strength of your abdomen and if With the hands on the floor, it's often difficult to lift the legs away from the floor. Use a block under each hand to increase the length of the arms and assist the lift of the legs. If can’t practice Padmasana then can perform same asana in sukhasana, or half lotus pose.

 

Limitations: don’t let your body hang on your shoulders, don’t bend your elbows,  Avoid this pose with any shoulder or wrist injuries, Ankle injury, Knee injury, Tight hips or thigh.

Benefits: Strengthens the wrists, arms, and abdomen, it generates control and balance.
