The yoga therapy or yoga chikitsa refers to the treatment of diseases by means of yogic practices which may be physical or mental or both. It is a specialized form of yogic culture.
Now it is widely known that yoga can enhance your physical and emotional well being, but when yoga is practiced with a therapeutic intention in the form of yoga therapy , it can help prevent and aid recovery from physical and mental ailment.
Yoga has been applied with therapeutic intentions all though it development as a way of transforming both and the mind. Therapy define as a remedy treatment, implies transforming an existing conditions or situation with the purpose of healing. Most of the problems in our health come from a state of ignorance of who and what we are and by offering a vehicle of self-knowledge, yoga provides the opportunity to become acquainted with our essence.
The integration of mind and body is very important for the healing process, but may be the main aspect where yoga comes in handy is the inclusion of the 'spiritual' realm into the equation.

Yoga therapy is the use of yoga asanas (poses), mudras(Gestures), kriyas(Cleansing processes), pranayamas(Breathing Exercise), Dhyana(Meditation) to help the body naturally heal and balance itself. Certain yogic practices have been shown to have specific healing qualities in addition to yoga's inherent ability to create wellness and good health.
So always do yoga and balance your body,mind and soul, so you can live disease free and healthy..
