(中英文)简言瑜伽 <wbr>What <wbr>is <wbr>Yoga <wbr>(simple <wbr>way)

 
    The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word "Yuj" meaning to yoke, join or unite. This implies joining or integrating all aspects of the individual - body with mind and mind with soul – this is simply a union of our individual soul with universal soul, but the thing is first we have to make our soul come to a pure level so can merge with universal soul.    

        瑜伽“Yoga”一词源于梵文“Yuj”,意为连接,结合或统一。意味着使人们的各方面——身体与思想,思想与心灵——成为一体。简单说,就是个人精神与宇宙精神合一。而与宇宙精神结合的前提首先是净化我们的个人精神。 

        In India, Yoga is considered as one of the six branches of classical philosophy and it is referred to throughout the Vedas-the ancient Indian scriptures and amongst the oldest textsin existence. The Upanishads are also broadly philosophical treatises which postdate the Vedas and deal with the nature of the "soul" and universe.

       在印度,瑜伽是六大古典哲学体系中的一派,贯穿《吠陀经》始终。这部经书是印度现存的历史最久远的典籍。此后的Upanishads《奥义书》也是一部广泛探讨人与宇宙的关系的哲学著作。 

        However, the origins of yoga are believed to be much older than that, stemming from the oral traditons of yogis, where knowledge of yoga was handed down from Guru(spiritual teacher) to Sisya(Spiritual student) all the way back to the originators of yoga, "the Rishis", who first began investigation into the nature of reality and man's inner world.

        尽管如此,人们确信瑜伽的起源要比这些典籍更加古老。瑜伽知识是由瑜伽士们一代代口口相传,由古鲁(精神导师)传授给弟子(精神传人)。追根溯源,瑜伽的创造者是最先开始研究现实的本质与人类内心世界的圣人们。

        Legend has it that knowledge of yoga was first passed by Lord Shiva to his wife Parvati and from there into the lives of men.

        传说中,湿婆神西瓦最先把瑜伽的知识教授给他的妻子帕尔瓦蒂,从那以后瑜伽开始在人间流传。

 

         Simply Yoga is a spiritual science of self-realisation. It comes from India and goes back over five thousand of years. The Indian sage Pantajali, in his yoga sutras defines yoga as the control of the activities of the mind. Yoga methods encompass the entire field of our existence, from the physical, emotional and mental to the spiritual. Its methods include ethical disciplines, physical postures, breath control, as well as meditation.

    简单地说,瑜伽是一门自我认知的精神科学,起源于5000多年前的古印度。印度圣贤帕坦伽利在他的《瑜伽经》中定义瑜伽为行为与思想的控制。瑜伽习练围绕着人类存在的每一个领域,从身体到情感,从思维到精神,包括道德自律、身体锻炼、呼吸控制和冥想。

       Classical yoga was defined by Patanjali is an eight stages process of spiritual development (the eight limb yoga). The first two stages are ethical disciplines (Yamas and Nyamas). Then come postures (Asanas in Sanskrit) and breathing exercises (Pranayama). The last four limbs are meditative stages: control of the sense (Prathyara), concentration (Dharana), meditation (Dhyana) and enlightenment (Samadhi).

        经典的瑜伽是由帕坦伽利按照精神层面的进程而定义的八个阶段(八支分瑜伽)。前两个阶段为道德戒律,制戒和内制。接着是体位和呼吸法。最后四个阶段为制感,专注,冥想和入定(三摩地)。

 

         The regular practice of asanas, and breathing exercises (pranayama), makes the body strong, supple and healthy. It has a profound effect on the circulation and on the functioning of the inner organs, glands and nerves, keeping all systems in radiant health and leading to greater energy, better concentration, and a happier, more fulfilling life. Many common physical ailments can also be improved through the regular practice of yoga, and it is never too late or too early in life to take it up. Anyone can practice yoga.

        经常练习瑜伽体式和呼吸法可以强健体魄,增加身体的灵活性和柔韧性。对于加强人体循环系统,内脏器官、腺体、神经系统和呼吸系统均由显著的功效。逐渐提升体内的能量,提高专注力,令我们的生活更加充实喜悦。同时,通过瑜伽练习,可以缓解许多常见的疾病症状。无论你从什么年纪开始练习都不晚。瑜伽,众人皆宜。

        So in the end i can say “Yoga is a harmony of Body, Mind and Soul.
