 This weekend past (12 – 14 June) I traveled to Macau for the annual International Indian Film Awards, the Oscars of the Bollywood film industry, which were being held at the Venetian Resort and Casino. My wife Kinga represents Bollywood in China and is working to bring this event to Shanghai in 2011, so we were invited to attend as part of the Shanghai delegation. This was an incredible experience. The Venetian Hotel was absolutely full of movie stars, pop stars, fashion designers, media and fans. We had a great time with one glamorous event after another. The programme takes up an entire weekend with a fashion extravaganza on Friday and the awards ceremony on the Saturday, with after parties going on until 6 am the next morning.

上周（6月12日至14日）我去澳门参加了一年一度的国际印度电影节，该电影节被誉为“宝莱坞电影界的奥斯卡”。庆典安排在了威尼斯人度假村和赌场酒店举行。我的妻子Kinga和我作为中国代表参加了活动；Kinga还希望能在2011年将这项盛事引进中国。这次的体验令人难以忘怀，当日的威尼斯人度假村星光熠熠，电影明星、流行歌手、服装设计师、媒体和众多粉丝将度假村围得水泄不通，我们参加的活动一场场接连不断。庆典持续了一整周，周五举行了一场盛大的时装秀，周六则举行了颁奖典礼，而庆贺派对则到了翌日清晨6点才告一段落。

Kinga had arranged for local Shanghai designer Chris Chang, to get a slot in the fashion event, so it was great to see someone from our city getting such fantastic exposure. She really put on a good show

For the awards evening it was a surreal experience for my wife and I to walk the carpet with all the movie stars and hundreds of fans and press yelling and taking photographs. I have never seen so many camera flashes in my life. Both shows were in true Bollywood style, with the awards event being the absolute highlight. Special effects, music, Indian dance routines, celebrities - really a spectacular event. Something like a little over 10,000 people attended the event and the live TV coverage was watched by 800 million people worldwide.

而颁奖典礼举行的那晚，我和妻子走上了红毯，我们听见粉丝和媒体朋友们连绵不断的尖叫，感受到不停扑闪的闪光灯，心中充满了震撼和激荡。这一生中我从未面对过如此多的闪光灯。这是典型的宝莱坞风格：颁奖仪式是绝对的聚焦点；而特效、音乐、印度舞蹈、名流将晚会打造得精彩纷呈。可能有超过1万人参与了晚会，而全球约有8亿人观看了电视直播。

After the show we were escorted to a huge after party with the award winners and other VIPs, which we left just in time for breakfast. We had fun with our good friend and Bollywood’s most famous bad guy, Pradeep Rawat.

晚会结束后，我们被人潮簇拥着参加了一场由获奖选手和VIP组成的盛大庆贺派对。我们和朋友们及宝莱坞著名“坏男孩”Pradeep Rawat一起狂欢一夜。

Look out later this month for the visit to Shanghai of the fabulous Priyanka Chopra, winner of the best actress award and Bollywood super star. Where will she be staying – at the Hilton of course.
