Continuity of Parks by Julio Cortazar

    Julio Cortazar, 1914-1984, French novelist.

Hopscotch, as a nontraditional novel, provide readers with an open end, who could reconstruct its chapters according to their thoughts.  I have not read the novel.

Continuity of Parks is a new novel, so queer and odd that I, with a knowledge of almost every word and every sentence and with looking up a advanced dictionary to figure out the specific meaning of each word in slight ambiguity, was thoroughly lost in bewilderment, confusion and perplexity.  Others, it consists of only two passages and I read it at least three times.

As reading a novel, the reader suddenly walked into the situation and the story of the novel, and played a significent role in it.  Then, "Feng Yue Bao Jian" in Hong Lou Meng came to my mind naturally. The place into which the reader in this novel stepped, was not mirror, but a novel, words, and to the point, imagination of his own.
