As anyone suffering from a broken heart is always told, there are plenty more fish in the sea. But the waters are far emptier than one might hope, according to the survey of 2,000 British adults, as the average person falls in love only 4 times over their lifetime, the Daily Mail of London reported. The average age to settle down is 27, and a lucky 33% do so with their first love. However, over 40% admit settling for “2nd best”, with 61% of those regretting letting the love of their life go. The study also found 2/5 Britons have been in love with someone and not had the feeling returned.
