古镇的东面是石峁龙山文化遗址，发现于1976年，总面积90万平方米，出土有大量的石器、陶器、玉器，并有原始村落、民居、石棺墓葬、陶瓮葬、祭祀场所、灰窖等遗迹遗址，2006年列为国家重点文物保护单位。在千佛洞和万佛洞，满壁佛像排列有序，享有“千年古窟”的美誉。
