红碱淖属高原性内陆湖，水位稳定，是陕西省最大的湖泊，也是中国最大的沙漠淡水湖，湖呈三角形。湖岸线长43.7公里，最大水深10.5米，平均水深8.2米，湖面海拔高程1100米。属神木县尔林兔镇管辖。位于陕蒙交界处，总面积为90平方公里，淖上水光粼粼，烟波浩淼，水草丰盛，环境宜人，景色壮观，融草原风光与江南泽国景象于一体，是旅游度假的理想水上乐园。红碱淖的“淖”是蒙语，是水泊、湖泊的意思。 　　红碱淖被称作“昭君泪”。据说王昭君当年远嫁匈奴，走到尔林兔草原，即将告别中原，下马回望，想到从此乡关万里，恐怕一辈子也难以回还，顿时千般感慨、万般惆怅汹涌心间，这一驻足，便流了七天七夜的眼泪，于是就形成了这一汪六七十平方公里的红碱淖。王母娘娘为此感动，便派七仙女下凡，仙女们各持一条彩带，从七个不同的方向向其走去，于是现在就有了七条季节河同时流入“昭君泪”。 http://s5/middle/5d92c9f1xcb76b18155b4&690

    神木县博物馆位于神木县城麟州街第六小学北侧，是陕北县级博物馆规模和馆藏量最大的一所综合性博物馆。总建筑面积为8600平方米，建筑物为五层，地上四层，地下一层，总投资1亿多万元。博物馆设有；恐龙足迹化石展厅、古代文明展厅、麟州城与杨家将专题展厅、汉画像石展厅、县情展厅等等。

       神木县博物馆收藏文物1万余件，展出的1000件（组）文物中，许多文物堪称国宝。不仅玉器、陶器、瓷器、青铜器、石器和金银器等十大类质地器物均有，而且文物的时代连贯紧密，纹饰精美、制作精巧。此外，馆藏文物尽显地域特色，具有游牧民族草原文化和汉民族农耕文化交融特点和边防军事重镇特点。

      参观时间为每周二至周日，早9：:00开馆，晚17:30停止发票。周一全天闭馆整修（国家法定节假日除外）。实施免费不免票，散客凭身份证等有效证件领票，当日有效。

尔林兔镇位于陕西省最北端，距神木县城75公里，地处陕蒙交界处，下辖14个行政村，68个村民小组，总人口12879人，总土地面积541.6平方公里，耕地30500亩。交通便利，210国道、锦大路穿境而过。目前畜牧、草产业已成为该镇的主导产业，羊子存栏73000余只，大畜2500余头，14个行政村全部实施了农业综合开发井灌配套工程。2004年全镇社会总产值8200万元，农业总产值2243万元，农民人均纯收入2500元。
