徐霞客（1587—1641），汉族，名弘祖，字振之，号霞客，江苏江阴人。明朝地理学家、旅行家和文学家。历经30多年考察，撰写了60多万字的《徐霞客游记》。

Xu Xiake, a native of Jiangyin, known as the geographer of the Ming Dynasty, an ancestor of hiker in China as well as a litterateur; Xu Xiake's Travel Notes was based on his more than 30 years hiking experiences.
