灯烛辉煌的赌场里
唐人街来的厨师
竟老眼昏花
把吃角子老虎
看成他
留在乡下
一群永远长不大的
孩子

feverishly feeding oily coins

into the hungry mouths

of the slot machines

a cook from Chinatown

blinded by the splendor of the casino

has mistaken them

for the children he left behind

in the old country

where they refuse

to grow up
