WINTER

 

The last thread of mist drifting in the air

finally joins

the icicles beneath the eaves

 

In this weather

how can I criticize

a small bird’s song

brief and evasive

游离空中的最后一丝水汽

终于也归附

檐下的冰柱

 

在这样的天气里

我怎忍苛责

小鸟的歌声

短促而闪烁

 

 

CHICAGO SERENADE

 

Evening

a desolate street

 

A car with its windows tightly rolled up

stops for a red light

 

Suddenly

in the rear-view mirror

a dark figure

looming

         

Sir, buy ...

 

The ashen driver

steps in fright on the pedal

and rushes through the red light

like a rabbit running for its life

         

... buy some flowers

today's Valentine's Day

一辆门窗紧闭的汽车

在红灯前缓停了下来

 

突然

后视镜里

一个黑人的身影

庞然出现

 

            先生，买…

 

受惊的白人司机

猛踩油门

疾冲过红灯

如野兔逃命

 

          …买把花吧
