what is a word?this question has occupied the attention of
linguists for ages.although numerous definitions have been
suggested,none of them seem to be perfect.scholars
still do not agree on the definition of the word.we can say that "a
word is a minimal free form of a language that has a given sound
and meaning and syntactic function.sound and meaning:there is no
logical relationship between the sound and meaning as the
connection between them is arbitrary and conventional.
何谓词？语言学家一直试图给一个圆满的答案，也提出了各种各样的定义，但因看法不一，不尽如意。概括起来，词是具有一定的声音，意义，语法功能，能够独立运用的最小的语言单位。关于词的音和义之间的关系，他们之间是任意和约定俗成的关系。语言的声音和外界事物之间不存在逻辑关系。
