Medical Science Is 

Not A Sophistry

( 4. Therapeutic Effect First ) 

Some guy has thrown up a nonsense, by saying 

 "The deceptive nature of TCM 

lies in its therapeutic effect  " 

In order to sell such a nonsense, he very 

confidently unveiled what he called the 

"Big Killer ", which is "Large sample 

randomized double blind controlled 

trials ".

( Note: For make it easy to discuss, I use 

Double-blind trials or DBTs to refer to 

"Large sample randomized double 

blind controlled trials" ) 

In order to mythologize his "Big Killer ",he 

gave a special discussion on the Ebola virus 

that ravaged Africa in 2014. 

At that time, this virus caused a mortality rate 

of over 50% in patients, which was indeed very 

dangerous.

And also at that time, two American healthcare 

workers were unfortunately infected . 

But after careful treatment upon returning to 

their country, they recovered and were 

discharged from the hospital. 

This successful case is good news for all the 

patients. 

But this guy was mocking our TCM (Traditional 

Chinese Medicine) with this case, he was really 

indefinable ! 

In fact, there are several points worth noting 

in his article: 

1. At first, this guy was very pleased that the 

American doctors did not use traditional 

Chinese medicine for this successful 

treatment. 

But in fact, it's originally a small probability 

event that American doctors use traditional 

Chinese medicine, and as long as the 

treatment is effective, it is understandable 

not to use traditional Chinese medicine. 

Besides, here is a serious problem : 

American doctors do not use traditional 

Chinese medicine, but why was he so 

happy about such things ?

So, we should sternly question him : 

Why is your self-esteem so pitiful,  even 

pitiful to the point of shamelessness ? 

2. He hadn't forgotten to satirize traditional 

Chinese medicine for using Angong Niuhuang 

Pills ( Also known as Bezoar chest functioning 

pill ) to rescue a patient named Liu Hairuo . 

According to reports at that time, combination 

of TCM and Western medicine was used to 

successfully rescue that patient . 

For example, used Angong Niuhuang Pill , 

acupuncture and moxibustion . 

And if the report is true, why can't we discuss 

this successful rescue case ? 

Even if such a successful treatment method is 

only a good application of existing empirical 

knowledge in medical science, and even if 

there are no breakthroughs of medical science 

in this treatment, This kind of treatment is still 

an anthem of life ! 

3. This guy even mocks applying traditional 

Chinese medicine prescriptions such as 

Banlangen to fight against  SARS, but is it 

really necessary ? 

In fact, diseases such as influenza ( Including 

SARS ) have never been a big problem for 

our TCM ! 

This topic involves our TCM, our Chinese herbs, 

and especially our TCM constitution generated 

by our TCM lifestyle. 

Perhaps someone says that  

"I never take any traditional Chinese medicine 

and never believe in it. What is my connection 

to a TCM  lifestyle ? " 

Then, we can ask him some questions: 

Have you ever eaten ginger, garlic, hot pot 

or spicy soup? 

Have you ever used seasonings such as 

five spices and star anise ?  

As long as you have eaten some of these, 

you may have some TCM constitution to 

some extent. 

In fact, our TCM constitution and TCM 

lifestyle are very effective in fighting 

against diseases such as influenza . 

Even if we suffer from diseases such as 

influenza, the symptoms are generally 

not too severe. 

So, in in fighting against all kinds of 

influenza diseases, all of our TCM, our  

Chinese herbs and our TCM lifestyle 

have played a very important role. 

Now, we can unstand all of these better 

as long as we compare the history of 

influenza between China and foreign 

countries or compare the influenza 

situation in recent years. 

And certainly, the scientificity and reliability 

from this large-scale, long-term sample data 

space have long surpassed  something called 

"Double-blind trials " !

Strangely, till now, many persons still pretend 

to be deaf and mute to this major medical 

discovery !

So, this alone is enough to prove that there 

don't be have any true medical scientist here . 

At the same time, that gang of pseudo scholars 

who always want to ruin our TCM may definitely 

say "NO " to all of these discoveries .  

But actually, their recognition has always been 

dispensable for us patients or pseudo scholars.  

Similarly, if someone says: 

"At present, we are still unable to understand 

all the process of food digestion and cannot 

write down all the chemical reaction equations 

for all food digestion. Therefore, from now on, 

it is best for you not to eat ."

Should we just foolishly stop eating ?

Perhaps some one is to say "NO " to all of these, 

for all of these are the results from

 "TCM Thinking Mode " .

But in fact, by comparing and analyzing the 

history of influenza between China and foreign 

countries, it can be concluded that: 

TCM Thinking Mode is the most effective 

way to cure diseases !

Because medical science must emphasize 

therapeutic effects, and the therapeutic 

effects first is the absolute principle ! 

The rest of the statements do be all 

redundant ! 

4. He also said that science, statistics and 

logic never acknowledge the persuasiveness 

of individual cases, and that it may also be 

self-healing, placebo effects and so on. 

However, there is a key point that he dare 

not mention, that is : 

Those who truly possess scientific literacy 

may never easily give up the studying on 

individual cases, and it is precisely with 

such research that humans may have 

significant medical achievements like 

smallpox vaccines ! 

Now, let's take a look at the first cured Ebola 

virus in 2014  again: 

If double-blind trials must be persisted before 

treatment can be given, so are there any cases 

that have been successfully cured like this case ?  

If double-blind trials is necessary before 

treatmentis allowed, and people do not 

have enough skills with such diseases, 

but still adhere to double-blind trials, 

then our medical science enters a dead 

end !

Furthermore, why can Western medicine 

make exceptions by completing treatment 

without double-blind trials, but our 

traditional Chinese medicine must wait 

for the results of double-blind trials ?

And the case of the first cure for the Ebola 

virus is just the thing they are proud of ! 

So, obviously they are using the two 

standards ! 

The first standard is for doctors of western 

medicine, so they can continue their 

treatment without a toy called 

"Double-blind trials " 

The second standard is for doctors of TCM, 

so those doctors can only wait for the 

results of "Double-blind trials " before any 

treatment for patients !

And even more, even if western medicine 

does not have any double-blind trials, it 

can still boast of its effective treatment, 

while the effectiveness of our TCM may 

never be acknowledged without 

double-blind trials !  

From it, we can see that the double-blind 

trials is nothing but a prop used by that 

gang of pseudo scholars to ruin our TCM, 

in order to achieve two goals: 

The first  goal is to show off how professional 

they are.

But in fact, medical science should pursue 

therapeutic effects.

Any medical professional knowledge that 

has nothing to do with therapeutic effects 

should all be thrown into the toilet to stop 

wandering around to interfere with 

treatment ! 

The second goal is to ruin our TCM.   

That gang of guys have gotten three tricks 

when using double-blind trials to ruin our 

TCM: 

The first trick is to utilizing the difference 

beween individual cases and large-scale 

cases 

For a long time, that gang of guys have 

denied all the facts that our TCM  has 

effectively treated many diseases, to the 

extent that treatments of our TCM have 

never reached a scale effect, let alone 

something called "Double-blind trials". 

The second trick is to utilize the difference 

between clinical treatment and scientific 

research 

Clinical practice requires timeliness, while 

scientific research has a cycle, which cannot 

meet the timeliness requirements of clinical 

treatment in a timely manner.  

Because double-blind trials are essentially 

just scientific research methods, not clinical 

skills ! 

So, they use scientific research requirements 

to prevent our TCM clinical practice, this is 

indeed a deeply hidden scam ! 

The third trick is to utilize the difference 

between qualitative and quantitative analysis  

Some issues may only have qualitative 

conclusions, for it is too difficult to get 

quantitative conclusions. 

But this does not mean that qualitative 

conclusions are of no value. 

In fact, in many cases, qualitative analysis 

is more important than quantitative analysis. 

Because using the wrong method, no matter 

how precise it is, it is always wrong !   

More importantly, as long as the treatmment 

is effective, it can be adhered to. 

 As for quantitative analysis, it can be put aside, 

after all, medical science is a science to treat 

diseases and save patients, not just to be 

quantitative analysis ! 

So, it is not difficult to find that all of their 

tricks hide a deep logical trap: 

On the one hand, they vigorously promote 

that all medical plans must undergo 

double-blind trials On the other hand, 

they completely negate all effective treatment 

plans of our TCM 

Just a slight analysis of their tactics shows that 

these guys have dug a bottomless hole for our 

TCM  by setting up the double-blind trials ! 

And in this way, the double-blind trials naturally 

become the  "Big Killer" in the hands of that 

gang, and be used to recklessly ruin our TCM ! 

So, in the face of the double-blind trials, a 

so-called "Big Killer"  , we should still have a r

ational understanding: 

Double-blind trials are ultimately just a 

scientific method, and essentially have 

their instrumental side.

 

That is, if double-blind trials are applied in 

good faith, double-blind trials are beneficial 

for the development of medical science and 

the treatments of patients. 

However, if double-blind trials are maliciously 

abused, double-blind trials are nothing but a h

andful of rotten grass ! 

We don't  be confused by it, 

Otherwise, 

we may be conquered by it !  

As a matter of fact, the doctors at that time did 

not adhere to the clich é s of double-blind trials , 

but instead persisted in effective treatment and 

ultimately cured the first two patients infected 

with the Ebola virus. 

This fact reminds us: 

1、 Double-blind trials are just a scientific 

research tool, and double-blind trials 

themselves have no right to prevent 

effective treatment of patients.

2.The core principles of medical science 

is : 

Medical science must be based on facts , 

guided by therapeutic effects and must 

regard patients focus as guide and treating 

diseases as its first duty . 

That is “Therapeutic Effect First”! 

So, if someone says today： 

"The deceptive nature of TCM 

lies in its therapeutic effect " 

but he says tomorrow : 

”The deceptive nature of western medicine 

lies in its therapeutic effect." 

he is likely the business representative from 

a crematorium.

Therefore, everyone should stay away from 

him !
