For as long as I can remember,


Nat King Cole's "The Christmas Song" has been a part of my holiday season.


It does not feel like the holiday season to me until I hear those first few bars of "The Christmas Song."


Even in the midst of the season's consumerism,


I still enjoy the music the most.

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire


Jack Frost nipping at your nose


Yuletide carols being sung by a choir


And folks dressed up like Eskimos


Everybody knows a turkey and some


Mistletoe can help to make the season bright


And tiny tots with their eyes all a glow


Will find it hard to sleep tonight


They know that Santa’s on his way


Hes loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh


And every mothers child is gonna spy to see if


Reindeer really know how to fly

Simple phrase to kids from
