霍童镇，位于福建省宁德市蕉城区西北部，距宁德市区47.7公里。霍童，古地名。传说周朝时有霍童真人，亦名霍桐，居霍林洞，由此得名。霍童是省级风景名胜区，有着旅游和自然风光。境内有国家森林公园支提山景区、三涧溪峡谷瀑布、外表村小桂林、柏步松林、邑坂生态植物园（原始森林）等景区，还有大童峰、葛仙岩、仙岩寺、小支提寺、双峰书室、黄鞠故里、道教鹤林宫等景点。域内古迹众多。在石桥山下村、邑坂村瓦窑岗以及芦坪岗有三处石器时代遗址。有省级文物保护单位隋代古水渠和引水隧洞，还有黄鞠古墓、霍林宫遗址、宫后垄遗址、唐代“霍童洞天”石碣、邑坂仙峰庵的摩崖石刻等唐宋时期的古迹。明清时期的古建筑以支提华藏寺、外表村的清代民居“百二间”、霍童村的清代建筑文昌阁、汪侯亭、双峰书室等闻名。霍童下街还保存着较为完整的明清风格的民居街区。境内有寺、庵、观10多处，尤以支提寺和仙岩寺、转水宫闻名。霍童镇先后被列为中国民间文化艺术之乡、中国历史文化名镇、国家级生态乡镇等。霍童溪自西向东贯穿整个镇域。其水纯，风清水碧，远山近林，视野宽阔，超凡脱俗，尤阳朔之于桂林；其山活，山形山景错落有序，层层递进，弯延曲折，老君岩、双鲤朝天、狮子峰、睡美人等；其林幽，柏步知青林、邑坂生态植物园，树种繁多，树形怪异，树龄最大的达1400多年，最高的达40多米，周长最大的需七、八个环抱。其中还有国家濒临绝种的珍稀树种竹柏等。
