20171216日六级写作真题一:

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the saying “Respect others, and you will be expected”. You can cite examples to illustrate your views. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

(解释含义)An instructive saying goes that Respect others, and you will be expected. Simple as the saying is, its meaning is profound and thought-provoking. Evidently, it is meant to tell us that respect is mutual, which can only be obtained when you pay it to others.

(举例说明)Actually, history abounds with examples to prove this saying. Here I can think of no better illustration of the proverb than the deeds of Premier Zhou Enlai. As one of the most respectable statesmen in China and even the whole world, he won his respect by paying it to others first. In fact, he was respected not only by prominent officials, but also by plain citizens. Stories go widely that he often stopped and paid his respect to street cleaners by greeting them and thanking them for their work. Taking a look around ourselves, we can also find evidences for the saying. Many rich people are scorned and even hated by others just because they are so proud, looking down upon and even bullying others.

(总结、建议)Bringing what has been discussed into a conclusion, we may say that respect is not something that you can buy or force from others. Instead, in social interaction, only when you take the initiative to respect others can you be rewarded by others’ respect. In a word, we should truly understand the profound meaning of the proverb and take the right actions in our life in the future./ Only in this way can we expect a harmonious society.

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the saying “Seek to understand others, and you will be understood”. You can cite examples to illustrate your views. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

(解释含义)An instructive saying goes that Seek to understand others, and you will be understood. Simple as the saying is, its meaning is profound and thought-provoking. Evidently, it is meant to tell us that understanding is mutual, which can only be obtained when you pay it to others.

(举例说明)Taking a look around, we can find examples too many to enumerate. The past few years have witnessed a mounting number of cases resulting from the conflict between doctors and patients. In some of the cases, patients or their relatives even killed the doctor. The direct reason here is the lack of mutual understanding. Patients often complain that doctors are cold and indifferent to them, but they seem to have forgotten the fact that doctors are under severe pressure. They have to face hundreds of patients a day, and have to make a living by selling more medicine under the present medical system. On the other hand, doctors fail to think from the angle of the patient, who has usually struggled for hours and even days or months to get a chance of being treated.

(总结、建议)Bringing what has been discussed into a conclusion, we may say that understanding is not something that you can buy or force from others. Instead, in social interaction, only when you take the initiative to understand others can you be rewarded by others’ understanding. In a word, we should truly understand the profound meaning of the proverb and take the right actions in our life in the future./ Only in this way can we expect a harmonious society.

20171216日六级写作真题三:

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the saying “Help others, and you will be helped when you are in need”. You can cite examples to illustrate your views. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

(解释含义)An instructive saying goes that Help others, and you will be helped when you are in need. Simple as the saying is, its meaning is profound and thought-provoking. Evidently, it is meant to tell us that help is mutual, which can only be obtained when you pay it to others.

(举例说明)However, both history and our real life abound with examples to prove the opposite of this saying. Stories about the farmer and the snake as well as Mr. Dongguo and the wolf still ring in our ears, reminding us that there were people who returned evil for good in the far past. Taking a look around, we can also find many examples. The most recent one might be the girl named Liu Xin, who refused to save her best friend Jiang Ge who risked her life sheltering and protecting her. True, there are also evidences proving the truth of the proverb above, but if negative stories are allowed to recur, people would be discouraged from helping others, and the entire society would be trapped in a trust crisis and a cold atmosphere.

(总结、建议)Bringing what has been discussed into a conclusion, we may say that the society is a fire into which everyone should contribute some fuel. Only when each individual offers his or her hand can the society become a harmonious family. In a word, we should truly understand the profound meaning of the proverb and take the right actions in our life in the future.
