1. My Dad                                                    

He comes home, has a shower,                   

And eats dinner, every day.                         

Now, he’s sitting in his favourite chair  

Too tired to laugh or play.                          

He reads his book or newspaper 

To learn what’s new today.                        

Soon he’ll go to bed.                               

He’s a boring man, my dad.  

 

Then I see him working,                           

On the building site.                             

He’s high up in the clouds                           

Higher than a kite.                                

He’s walking on a narrow piece of wood     

Not worried about the height,     

Not afraid, not afraid like me.    

He’s a superman, my dad.                          

 

2. The old newspaper seller                         

He’s sitting at the newspaper stand   

Near the bus stop,                                 

And he’s smiling.                               

The sun is shining.

It’s very hot.                                    

But he’s smiling.                    

            

A bus stops, and the people rush out.   

They’re hurrying to work.                        

They don’t have much time to smile.    

They take their papers quickly,                 

And put down some money.   

But he’s a patient man,                              

And he’s still smiling.                       

A crowd of people,                              

All very busy, with tired faces,    

And just one smile.                                

Is there just one smile in this city?    

Or will you make it two?                           

Let’s make a million smiles!       

 

 

Grammer

(1)    以what 引导的感叹句，一般有三种形式，what后跟名词。

 

①What + a/an+形容词+可数名词单数+主语+谓语动词！

1. What a good girl she is!
2. What an interesting poem it is !
3. What an exciting football game it is!
4. What an interesting film we saw !
5. What a kind lady she is !

 

②   What + 形容词+不可数名词+主语+谓语！

1. What bad weather it is!
2. What clean water it is!
3.  What fine paper they bought yesterday!
4.  What light cotton it is!

 

 

③  What + 形容词+可数名词复数+主语+谓语！

1. What good students they are!
2. What beautiful flowers they are!
3. What interesting animals pandas are!
4. What clever students they are!
5. What expensive shoes they are!
6. What beautiful flowers they are!
7. What heavy books they are!

 

(2)    以how引导的感叹句也有三种形式，how后跟形容词或副词，也可以修饰动词。

①  How +形容词+ 主语+谓语动词（系动词）！

1. How hot it is today!
2. How lucky we are!
3. How beautiful the girls look!
4. How angry he is!
5. How happy we are!
6. How sad they felt just now!
7. How clean the floor looks!
8. How strong the boys are!

 

 

② How+副词+主语+谓语(行为动词）

 

1. How fast he runs!
2. How slowly we walk!
3. How beautifully the girls dance!
4. How angrily he is shouting !
5. How happily we are working!
6. How sadly they cried just now!
7. How quickly they answered!
8. How hard the boys are working!

 

 

 ③How + 主语+谓语！

How time flies! 光阴似箭！

How quickly the time passed!

 

1.Please turn off your phone. 请关上你的电话。

turn off 关闭（水源、电灯、煤气等），其反义短语为turn on,意为“打开”

turn down 把音量、灯等关小、调低。反义短语为turn up, 意为把音调大。

must 一定，必定，表示推测。

You must be hungry after a long walk.

常用于表推测的情态动词：

(1)   must 用于肯定句中，表示较有把握的推测，意为“准是，一定”

There must be something wrong. 一定是出了什么差错。

(2)   can 常用于否定句或疑问句中，表示惊异、怀疑或不相信等，意为“可能”。

She can’t have done such a thing.

Can this be true?

 

(3)   may 用在肯定句中，表示对现在把握不大的推测，意为“可能，也许”。

It may be Bill’s. 那可能是比尔的。

(4)   could和might也可以表示推测，might表示的可能性比can和could 要小。

It could rain tomorrow. 明天可能要下雨。

He might be very busy now. 他现在可能很忙。

(5)   表示推测时，can的否定式为can’t，意为“不可能”；may的否定式为may not,意为“可能不”。

She can’t /may not be there today. 她今天不可能/可能不在那儿。

“Whose notebook is this?” “It ______ Jim’s. It has his name on it.”

follow 动词,意为”遵循;跟从；听从”

Follow the traffic rules. 遵循交通规则。

knock on 意为“敲”，常用来表示“敲门、窗”等。

Who is knocking on the door? 谁在敲门？
