昨晚被问起对清奈的第一印象，我想了想说：炎热、潮湿、人多、尤其交通令人印象深刻，在座的都笑了。其实从机场出来的时，对一路上看到的景象是比较失望的，乱糟糟的，什么样的车都有，道路也不好，不少工地还在工作，我心想：什么印度第四大城市啊，就这样啊，唉～～到了酒店，长舒一口气：回到现代社会了啊。但是这几天慢慢熟悉了一些地方了以后，开始喜欢这里了，虽然生活肯定不比在北京方便。

Chennai is known for its sport venues and hosts an Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) event, the Chennai Open. The city faces problems of water shortages, traffic congestion and air pollution. The state and local governments have undertaken initiatives such as the Veeranam project, Rainwater harvesting and the construction of mini-flyovers to address some of these problems.

    这个城市不小，但是高楼不多，没有新德里、孟买那么现代的感觉，这里看起来好点的建筑，很多是高级酒店、公寓。这里的气候使得城市绿色很多，空气明显比北京好很多，靠近海边么，污染没有那么严重。有钱人的房子是一个一个院落式的，坐落在幽静的小路上，两边绿树鲜花，是个散步的好地方。

    这是从酒店10层的lounge里拍照片，天气好的话，可以看到港口的大型船只。清奈的机场狠忙碌，我坐在这里隔几分钟就看见飞机飞离或者到达，无聊的时候，我就使劲看，看是啥航空公司的。让人不爽的是，这里最多的鸟类是乌鸦.....经常有乌鸦贴着玻璃在我眼前飞走，我看我再配合一个的表情，就赶上日本漫画了....

Citi center，一个比较大的商场，我看和中国商场没啥区别，就是牌子不一样，咱熟悉的有Esprit、贝纳通、还有些没记住，款式也差不多。也有一个类似咱们屈丞士（忘了汉字了，倒～～），卖的东西也是类似的。这里逛街的人们明显比大街上的大部分人打扮要好一些，一些年轻人还挺时髦的。商场里还有餐厅、电影院、主要卖些进口商品的超市。

还是citi center，是个看帅哥美女的好地方

超市里的一些蔬菜水果，紫色的那是茄子，那么小，特好玩。这里的芒果、木瓜特别特别好吃，特别甜，木瓜是红色的，我一开始以为是西瓜呢。研究了一些日用品，牌子跟国内的也差不多，宝洁、强生、联合利华的东西不少。

    这里的商场里有个中国餐厅，叫china town，俺被印度式中国菜雷倒了....菜单俺看不懂啊看不懂，而且吃饭不给筷子，跟西餐一样叉子勺子。吃饭也跟西餐差不多，先来了个汤，天，我难道不是中国人么，这都是中国哪部分的汤啊，好在味道不错。汤完了，服务员撤走，开始上菜了，还分餐，还得拿着捏着装淑女搞个小叉子一点点吃，我想念大块吃肉、大口吃菜的感觉啊。不过印度人民的服务确实不错，酒店、饭馆、超市等，热情周到，始终微笑服务，sir、madam、may I、thank you等等，一直在说，也许是受了英国人不少影响。我想，如果我开个正宗的中国饭馆应该挺受欢迎，这里也开始有不少中国人过来了。逛街的时候，在商场里碰到两拨中国人，酒店里有时候也能看到，但是不多。东亚人的话，韩国人最多，据说有1600多；其次日本人，大约100多人；中国人，不详，有待于我进一步考察。我现在所知的在这里进行生产的著名国际公司有日产、现代、福特、宝马、诺基亚。由于以前工作关系，也留意了一下保险公司，有Metlife、New York Life、AIG、AXA等，每天电视节目里保险公司的广告也是不少的，有机会的话，会研究一下这里的保险市场和印度人的保险观念，肯定比较有意思。

    印度的人口结构属于年轻化，这个国家是有活力的。每天早餐的时候，我会看当地的报纸，上面经常提到中国，进行比较，正如我们也关注印度的发展一样，昨天一个标题就是：Two Asian Giants。我们的邻居也在看着我们哦。
