天门山寺位于被誉为仙山圣境的天门山顶，始建于明朝，是湘西地区的宗教中心，佛道并纳，香火鼎盛，民国后日渐衰颓。
   09年新落成的天门山寺为原址重修，采用清代官式风格，由山门、钟鼓楼、天王殿、大雄宝殿、观音阁等建筑组成，占地面积万余平方米。其中，观音阁造型最 为奇巧，楼层设置明二暗三，其构造之复杂，堪与国内各古典名楼相媲美。寺内供奉着一枚非常珍贵的自尼泊尔迎请回的佛教圣物 - 释迦牟尼佛舍利。
   据传说，李娜曾与天门山有约，届时将来到天门山做主持...
