天门山是国家森林公园，拔地擎天的天门山，山势陡险峻拔，景色雄奇壮丽，被称为张家界的天然画屏。
      说起天门山的神奇，其一是山顶南北对开的天门洞，它悬空危立，似明镜高悬，终年吞云吐雾，在蔚为壮观中显得神秘莫测，在世界上实属罕见。自古以来，奇幻 美丽的“天门吐雾”、“天门灵光”，被认为是天界祥瑞之象，圣境蕴玄妙神奇传久远。其二是流传久远的关于“野拂藏宝”的传说。“野拂藏宝”是传李自成兵败 后，由其侄李过将所有财宝秘密运至天门山藏匿，李过并因此在天门山寺出家为僧，法号“野拂”。其三是全长1600米，平均海拔为1400米全线都立于万丈 悬崖峭壁之上的鬼谷栈道，很多飞鸟都不能到达与栈道的平行位置，迈步其上如踏云而行，实乃人间天界。其四是97年，当时红遍神洲大地的著名歌手李娜登上天 门山，似受冥冥中神奇力量的点化，顿悟而皈依佛门，从此绝尘而去...
