　　黄庭坚（1045－1105），字鲁直，号山谷道人，北宋诗人和书法家。在宋代有一个影响最大的诗歌流派——江西派，黄庭坚被尊为创始人。

1.鄂州南楼——旧址在今湖北武昌蛇山上。

2.芰——菱，生植物，夏天花开，白色，果实叫菱角，可吃。

3.一味——食物或药品，一种称为一味；“一味凉”，含有赞赏的意思。

　　武昌的夏天，热得可怕。今夜，诗人登上高高的南楼乘凉。

　　倚栏而望，明月已近中天，皎洁的清辉倾泻而下。四面的山光与水光相连相映，一片通明；方圆十数里、盛开着芰（菱）花、荷花，凉爽的夜风中，不断有淡淡的芳香扑面而来。习习清风，朗朗明月，谁也不能对它们管束驱遗，它们慷慨、殷勤地为南楼送来清清爽爽的夜凉，供游人称心快意地消受啊！欣赏这首小诗，我们很容易忘记自身的处境，仿佛自己也登上南楼来乘凉了。这样的感觉从何而来？先从外界景象来看：四外山水落石出，十里芰荷，楼头清风，空中明月，远方近处，天上地下，以南楼为中心，构成一个高远、清空、富有立体感的艺术境界。再从自身感受来说：山光、水光、月光，是眼睛的视觉所感到的；芰花、荷花的香气，是鼻子的嗅觉所感到的；清风——夜凉，是皮肤的触觉以及耳朵的听觉听感到的；而“南楼一味凉”的“味”字，还隐含着口舌的味觉在起作用，好像在那里细细地美美地品尝一般。总之，我们的眼睛、鼻子、耳朵、口舌、皮肤种种器官司的视觉、嗅觉、听觉、味觉、触觉种种功能，统统被调动起来，集中起来，共同参与对这南楼夜景的感觉、领略、体验。此景此情，令人生出如临其境的感受，岂不是自然而然的事？这便是作品的艺术魅力，诗人的艺术追求了。

　　黄庭坚一生，道路崎岖坎坷，由于遭受人陷害中伤，曾贬官司蜀中六年之久；召回才几个月，又被罢官司来武昌闲居。今夜纳凉南楼，眼见明月清风，无拘无束，各行其事，想到自己每欲有所作为，却是动辄得罪，怅恨之情，于是潜滋暗长。“清风明月无人管”，正是诗人这种心绪的自然流露。


  Huang Tingjian（1045-1105）was a famous poet and calligra pher of the Northern Song Dynasty and a founder of the Jiangxi sect,the most influential group of poets of the Song Dynasty.

  E'zhou,present-day Wuchang city in Hubei Province,was terribly hot during the Summer days.In order to escape from the heat,the poet went one night to the Southern Pavilion o the top of the Sheshan Hill where he composed this poem.

  Despite the scorching heat during the day,it was quite different during the night. From the top of the hill,he saw a beautiful landscape of mountains and rivers flooded by the clear moonlight,smelt whiffs of fragrant scent of lotus flowers,and felt gentle reezes driving the heat away.The pleasant coolness of the night was so vividly presented in these verses,one might think that he could even taste it.
  Huang suffered great deal in his career.Once he was dismissed from office on false accusations and sent to exile in Sichuan Province for six years.Six moths after his rehabilita tion,he only found himselt stripped off all official posts again and staying idly at home in Wuchang.Against this background,the unrestrained gentle breezes and free cool moonlight in his verses contrasted sharply to his bumpy and difficult career,thus implying a strong sense of melancholy.
