I had fun during the Kids Day exhibition yesterday. It was great to meet Cullen Jones, the American swimmer. It's also fun from time to time to share the court with a professional male player, and I enjoyed rallying with James Blake.

I really didn't mean to ace the actor Mark Indelicato on the first point! I hadn't warmed up or practised my serve, and I just hit it too much to the side! It was embarrassing!

I like meeting other athletes, so it was especially fun to play with Cullen. The Olympics were a big disappointment for me professionally, but the positive I could take out of it was that I took part in the opening ceremony and got to know athletes from many different sports. It's very interesting for me to learn about their lives, for example how they train and how they prepared themselves for the competition.

I had a good practice session today. Pain in my thumb comes and goes, so I just hope that it feels okay for my first match on Tuesday.

This will be the third year in a row that I play against Dushevina here. As far as first round opponents go it's a very tough draw, so I will need to play well in order to go through.
