Clos des Goisses Juste Rose 2002

Tasted in Jan, 2015

Very pale in color, almost like Blanc de Noirs. Subtle nose gradually reveals exotic wood & walnut oil. Powerful attack on the palate, with intense, demanding chalkiness framing the evolving fruit (meaty cherry, grapefruit & blood orange) in slightly oily texture (walnut oil). After the demanding strike of saline chalkiness, the finale exudes warm, round sensation of date & longan.

Overall, it's difficult for the fading fruit to match the demanding minerality. Bit over the hill already. Shall drink up.

Clos des Goisses Juste Rose 1999

Pale orange-amber. Expressive, complex aromas of date, longan & walnut oil, gradually gaining honeyed richness yet also grapefruit freshness.

Saline-chalkiness-infused preserved red berry on the palate. Much more rounder and creamier than the rather bony 02.  

99 has proven itself again as a respectable debut of Clos des Goisses Juste Rose. But it's also fully resolved now. Drink soon. Don't hold.

Clos des Goisses Juste Rose 2000

Medium orange-amber, the deepest hue among all three. Notes of sea breeze (minerality) soon give way to generous bouquet of toast-mingled preserved red fruit & black tea.

Sensual, silky texture with seamlessly integrated flavors of meaty cherry, black tea, date, longan & walnut oil.

The richest among all three. But also fully resolved now. Drink soon. Don't hold.

Goisses Juste Rose 1999 & 2000 were still sealed with real cork for the 2nd fermentation.
