Danny Stanton, 19 years old now, with severe
cerebral palsy, is the second child of my friend Marion Stanton. He
is not able to talk or move but he learned how to communicate with
people with a head pointer. This peom was written with a head
pointer at 13.

The rain
The snow
The sun

A waterproof coat for the heavy strong rain
Boots that are tough for the heavy strong gleaming snow
A cap and a beautiful beach somewhere in Italy for the very strong sun
I will put in my box
Mixed feelings
Good and bad days
For me to look back on.
My box is made of
Lion’s bravery
Rare stones
Solid gold chains and rope to secure my box
I will put my box
Close to my heart
Close to home and school
Close to the future
我的盒子装上
雨点
雪花
阳光
我的盒子装上
遮挡暴风骤雨的雨衣
跋涉冰天雪地的靴子
欣赏意大利某个沙滩美景的遮阳帽
我的盒子装有
五味瓶般的情感
喜乐和忧伤
日后细细品尝
心爱的盒子
雄狮的勇猛
宝石的珍贵
我用黄金锁链抱紧你，保护你
我心爱的盒子
靠近我的心灵
跟我回家，和我上学
结伴走向未来
