Section I features a “Fast Facts”compilation of data on North American lotteries, including startup history, guide toproduct mix, government proffts earmarking, lotto matrices, worldwide lotto matri-ces, top lotto jackpots and video lottery terminal guide.
Section II features four-pageproffles on 44 U.S., ffve Canadian and six Australasian lotteries. Each proffle tracesthe lottery’s calendar 2008 versus 2007 sales by game (instant, 3-digit, 4-digit, lotto,cash lotto, keno, VLTs, niche games), its calendar 2008, 2007 and 2006 instant sales byprice point ($1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $7, $10, $20) and its projected ffscal 2009 versus ffscal2008 ad budgets by media and by game. Each proffle tracks the lottery’s ffve-yearannual sales by game from ffscal 2004 through ffscal 2008. Each proffle features thenumber and the percentage of total, instant and online retailers by type of business,plus each retailer’s ffscal 2008 total, instant and online sales.
Section III is dividedinto seven chapters: worldwide lottery sales; ffscal 2008 sales, profft and expenseanalysis; the retailer network; ad expenditures; historical analysis; contractor survey; and calendar 2008 U.S. lotter-ies’ weekly sales by game. The worldwide lottery sales chapter tracks calendar 2008 traditional game sales and VLTnet machine income in local currency and converted to U.S. currency for 178 lotteries worldwide, including rankingsby total and per capita sales for instant, lotto, total, keno, toto and draw games.
There is a separate section on VLT netmachine income rankings. The historical analysis section features the U.S., Canadian and Australian lotteries’ annualsales by year for the past decade for instant, pulltab, 3-digit numbers, 4-digit numbers, in-state and bloc lotto, kenoand video lottery terminals. The contractor guide features a monetary guide to U.S. lotteries’ instant ticket and onlinesystem contracts.
