Hi Eva,
I have been meaning to write to you ever since we got home; life has been very busy!  Thank you for welcoming our family so warmly to Angel Home.  It was wonderful to see how much Adam is loved!  It is nice to be able to have pictures of our family there and also to be able to tell Adam how he was loved and cared for in China.  We are grateful for the love and preparation you have given to our son.  What a gift!

He has had a very nice transition to being home.  We have had a lot of snow and he loves playing outside!  He enjoys riding his bike and scooter.  His English is coming along very well.  He is such a sweet, affectionate, smart, happy boy!  And naughty- haha.  

We have found natural lotions and diapers that are good for his sensitive skin.  Thank you for the camellia oil- it cleared up the rash very quickly.  We also have seen an International Adoption doctor and a pediatric urologist.  The specialist was happy with Adam's surgical repair in China and said that based on the success of the initial closure, his prognosis is good for later surgeries.  The technique used for his pelvic osteotomy in China was actually pioneered by the orthopedic surgeon he'll have in Baltimore!  (they could tell by the type and location of scars.)  Next steps are an ultrasound of his kidneys (next Thursday) to see how much reflux he has in his kidneys and to make sure they are both there.  The doctor thinks they are both there. :)  In March, he will have general anesthesia for an evaluation of his bladder size and how it empties and pelvic xrays to see if he needs any more pelvic reconstruction.  The epispadias repair surgery will probably be in the fall and his bladder neck reconstruction (to get him dry) will be in a year or two.  We will keep in touch and let you know how he does.
