    Thank you for your kind message. I hope you and the children are doing well.

    We feel very blessed that we are given the opportunity to be the parents of Yuan. He is now 4 1/2 years old and an intelligent, curious and active boy with a very cute face. He has grown quite well and is now more than 15 kilograms. We noticed that almost everything we bought for him last winter doesn’t fit anymore. But that is a very good sign. We adjusted his food what makes that he only needs a diaper at night. During the day he has almost no accidents. Though the doctor is not sure if Yuan will ever be continent for his urine. They need to do some more tests before they know for sure. These tests are now being planned.

    The day after his birthday (12 May) he went to school in our village. There are over 20 children in his class and he has two female teachers. He likes school very much, especially playing in the building corner, gym and with the trains. According to the teachers it is sometimes a challenge to keep Yuan on his stool. But they also think he is very cute and a good student. His knowledge of the dutch language is very good and his pronounciation is even better. He likes to play a lot with other children after school.

    This summer we went camping in France. Yuan enjoyed it very much to sleep in a tent, eat outside and do fun things together. Because he is crazy about planes and flying we went in October to Lisbon in Portugal.

    On 5 December there was a national party which is called "Sinterklaas”, you can compare it to ’Santa Claus’ in America. The children get (a lot of) presents. Yuan found it very exciting and was very happy with the presents he got. Sinterklaas visited the school also and Yuan was asked to hold his cane. When Sinterklaas asked Yuan where he comes from Yuan answered „ from China”. We talk a lot about China and the time we came to China to get him. He likes to hear that story and also look at the photo’s of that time.

    We would love to come back to China and let Yuan see where he comes from. But we think he needs to be a little bit older to understand it more. We saved everything Yuan had when we got him (clothes, toys, shoes, etc.) and would love to have more information about his background. If it’s possible we would like to have more information about his stay at the hospital. That would mean the world to us and Yuan.
