女儿学校今年13年级成绩斐然，美国大学的录取工作还没有开始，英国的录取就让人刮目相看，已经有五位同学取得了英国剑桥牛津的录取通知，其中一位还是和她很不错关系的同学。

而女儿自从英国的五所大学录取之后，就再也没有了下文，别的同学陆续也收到港大的录取书，她还是没有，心里难免有些着急，安慰了她几句让她耐心等待吧。

每天查邮件已经成了我们例行公事了，就在已经“绝望”的时候，今天一大早女儿就收到了港大的录取通知书了。

要求的条件是毕业考试36分，这个条件应该是可以达到的，女儿报名的专业是社会科学和教育双学士学位，五年制。

我立即把这个好消息短信给了国内的老公。

其实在国内的时候，我们也讨论过女儿究竟在哪里读大学的问题，虽然英国录取了我们还是希望她能去香港读书，一来港大本身也是很不错的大学，二来她将来毕业之后肯定要回国发展的，如果在香港读大学是最好不过的，中西方文化都能兼得，毕业后在香港工作一两年回国就很不错了。

她自己也很愿意在香港读书，一来离家近——这么多年的漂泊生活已经让她对海外生活有点厌倦了；二来香港大学有内地学生可以中文交流，那里吃的东西也顺口些——她对西餐还不是很能接受，所以她个人认为，港大对她来说的确是最不错的选择了，因为这个缘故，对港大的期待无形之中也就增加了几分。

这个专业也很合适，五年一次性读出来就是双学士学位了，好像最后一年可以拿到硕士学位，这样一举两得，她自己选的专业，我们认为也很适合她的个性，其实她爸爸本来想让她学商业，但她不喜欢我们就放手让她自己选择专业了。

我能做到的就是每逢她问我这个专业将来做什么的时候，和她耐心的分析一下——仅此而已。

因为在浩如烟海的大学以及专业的选择中，我实在帮不上什么忙，那些英文对我来说实在是令人头脑发昏的产物，所以一切申请过程都是女儿独立完成，在此特别要感谢她的同学们，他们真的是互相帮助，有当地学生英文特别好的，会帮女儿修改申请信，看看语法和口气有没有什么错误，比较国内有些家长动辄花几万块钱找中介代理，这些学生们还是替老爸老妈节省了一些银子的。

现在女儿申请的大学还有港中文，美国纽约大学，加拿大麦吉尔大学没有收到消息，其余申请的都拿到了录取，成绩还是很不错的，我也很感欣慰，证明她的努力没有白费。

To confirm your acceptance of offer, you are required to complete the following procedures by March 26, 2012.

1.     PRINT the scanned letter and SIGN to accept the offer;

2.     PAY the deposit of HK$10,000 for Main-round offer using one of the payment methods listed on the payment slip provided to you;

3.     SCAN a copy of your acceptance of admission offer and your proof of payment by EMAIL to ienroll@hku.hk or by FAX to (852) 2291-0451;

4.     MAIL the original acceptance and bankdraft/proof of deposit payment to Global Lounge, G/F, Fong Shu Chuen Amenities Centre, The University of Hong Kong, Pokfulam Road, Hong Kong  (ATTN: Ms. Elaine Tang) as soon as possible by courier.
