Chinese culture class has helped me greatly. Honestly, when I first signed up for this class I didn’t know what to expect. I had absolutely no knowledge of the Chinese, or their culture. I knew that this class would be interesting, so I decided to learn about this fascinating group of people.
After only being in this class four short weeks, our instructor has taught us many things, even more exciting than the other. My eyes have been opened to see China what it really is. It’s not just a country where people are famous for their martial arts, but it is a place of honor, respect and pride.
The Chinese have many characteristics different from us, such as food, daily life, and even teaching habits. It seems to me that the Chinese schooling system must be very beneficial because from what I’ve learned about their language and customs, I have developed a lot of respect for the people and their way of life. It also seems that they respect our country also, which is good, because both of us are interesting.

I’m very glad that I’m lucky enough to learn everything Mr. He is teaching, and I’m also happy that he came to U.S. and gave us the opportunity to learn about his culture. I feel that this class has increased my knowledge on the Chinese culture greatly. I also really enjoy learning the language.

When I first signed up for Chinese culture class, I was thinking it would just be an easy A. It turns out; it is much more than that. I have learned more than I ever expected. I expected to learn about culture, but I am learning how to speak the language, and much more. Chinese culture has become one of my favorite classes of the day.
The best thing about Chinese culture class is that we have fun
while we are learning. Sometimes we have so much fun; we forget we
are speaking Chinese.
This class has also had an effect on my life. Now, when I go to the Chinese restaurant, I can understand some of the characters, and even carry on basic conversations in Chinese. I know more about the culture and traditions. Chinese class has also given me a great respect for Chinese people. I am thankful for this.
In conclusion, I am glad I took Chinese culture. It has been a wonderful experience. I have already learned so much, and we are only halfway through the year. I know I will have learned so much more by the time this class is over. This class is very enriching and I would suggest it to everyone that I know in the school.

Chinese culture class has been very interesting and different for me. It has really changed my views of certain things the Chinese people have done. It’s so neat to actually be able to go in depth into a culture that is complete opposite from your own. It broadens your horizons and helps keep you open-minded with other’s belief and ways of living.
When we first cooked the Chinese food, I thought to myself that I really wasn’t going to try anything because it’s all the same. I stepped out on a limb and I actually enjoyed it a lot. The food was actually quite delicious. That put me in the mind to want to try more of this culture’s food and possibly some other cultures. You never really know how good something is until you try it.
I enjoy learning about different beliefs within each culture. The Chinese people have a great variety of religion and traditions that set them out from others in a good way. It was neat to learn what they believed in because you could compare yourself to them and find that many things were the same. Instead of saying one thing about the Chinese people and not knowing anything else, I was able to explore a variety of different aspects that helped me understand them and their ways much better. One thing that has affected me most of all the way how Chinese people are so close to their family. Americans nowadays could really care less, but china still hangs on to that wonderful customs. I think that we, as Americans, should look to the Chinese in that aspect of life, and “do what they do”. Without family, you’d have nothing and no one.
Chinese culture is an excellent class for anyone wanting to experience another culture hands-on. It has opened new door for me and changed a lot of my opinions. I now know a lot more about a very intriguing culture that has been around for centuries. It is a class that has affected me in more ways than one and it will always be remembered in my mind.
