 语法专项    状语从句                                           

考点一  时间状语从句及引导词

1.when, while, as

1）when 可以和延续性动词连用，也可以和 _______________ 动词连用。主句和从句动作可以同时发生，也可以_________________ 发生， 如：        

He was thin ______________________________. 当他是个孩子的时候，他很瘦。

主句和从句________________ 发生。从句的谓语动词是延续性/短暂性动词。

The film had begun ______________________.当我们到达时，电影已经开演了。

主句和从句_______________ 发生。从句的谓语动词是_____________动词。

2）while表示“在……期间”“当……时候”，有时候可以和when通用，但while引导的从句的谓语动词必须是______________动词 , 并强调主句和从句的动作__________发生。如：

Please don’t talk so loud ________________. 别人在工作的时候，请勿高声讲话。

Strike while the iron is hot. __________________________ 

另外，while还可以表示对比 ”然而”.                                                                          

I like reading while _____________________. 我喜欢看书而我妻子喜欢看电视。

You like tea while she prefers coffee.  _________________________________.

3）as 也有 ”当……时候” 的意思，往往可以和when, while 通用，但是 as着重指主句和从句的动作相并发生，所以常翻译成 ”一边……一边……”  有时候还翻译成 ______________.

As I was coming here, I met your brother. ______________________________ 。

They talked as they walked. _________________________ 。                           

Her sight became worse and worse as she grew older. _____________________。

2. 一些表示时间的名词短语也可以引导时间状语从句：the first time, the last time,

 the minute = the ___________ = the _____________  意思相当于 as soon as

__________________________________, I was amazed by its beauty.

我第一次到达伊宁市的时候，我就对它的美丽感到惊讶。

______________ I reach Shandong, I will ring you up. 我一到山东就给你打电话。

注意，主句_______时态，从句_______ 时态。

3．directly, __________ , instantly 也可以作为连词引导时间状语从句，意思为___________

I recognized him immediately I saw him. 译: _____________________________

4. no sooner…______ , 和hardly(scarcely) … _______ 这两个词组的意思_________________

I had no sooner entered the room than it began to rain. 译:___________________

= I had _______ entered the room ______ it began to rain.

主句动词had entered是__________ 时态，从句动词began是__________时态。

如果no sooner, hardly 或scarcely位于句首，主句要__________。例如，前面的句子就可以变为

No sooner ___________________ entered the room than it began to rain.

或者Hardly __________________________________________________.

5. before  & after

before意思是 ________, 还经常翻译成 “还未……就……；不到……就……；……才…；

还未来得及”。  试着翻译下列句子。

The day began to break before we got to the village.译: _____________________。

The bus had left before we got to the bus stop. 译: _______________________。

It will not be long before we know the result of the exam. 译: ________________。

It was three days before he finished this task. 译: _______________________。

区别：before long  & long before

before long 不久（以后）；与___________, __________ 时态连用;

long before 很久以前；与____________ 时态连用.

The work will be finished ___________________. 该项工作不久即将完成。

The young couples found their lost daughter before long. 译:___________________

We heard of the story long before. 译:_______________________________

6. till & until

都表示“直到……”但在句首只能用__________

1)在肯定定句中，主句要用­­­____________  (延续性/非延续性)动词。

We will wait for him till / until he comes back. 主句动词wait 是______ 动词。

2）在否定句中，主句要用_____________动词。

We won’t leave till /until he comes back. 主句动词leave是________动词。

另外，这两个句子的主句是_________ 时态，从句是_________时态。

Not until 位于句首时，主句要__________ 。例如：

He won’t go to bed until his mother returns. 译:___________________________

= Not until his mother returns _________________ go to bed.

 

考点二   地点状语从句

地点状语从句通常由________ , ________ ,__________ 等引导。

Just stay where you are.  译:______________________________

I will take you anywhere you like. 译:__________________________

Where there is a will, there is a way. 译:__________________________

Where there is smoke, there is fire.  译:_______________________________
