Unit4 Where’s my schoolbag? The fifth period Self Check

Teaching Aims:

Review the new words of Unit 4. Have students read and write them.

Review the new sentence, for example: The keys are on the desk.

Make some conversations with your partners.

Have students try to write a passage.

Important points:

Read and write the new words and make some new conversations.

Difficult points:

How to write a passage about your room.

Materials:

Methods:

The communicative language teaching, writing.

Process:

Step1: Warm-up

Greetings. Nice to meet you. How are you?

Free talk. What’s this? How do you spell it? Is it yours? Where is it?

Step2: Talk

CAI shows a picture of my bedroom, have students look at it carefully, then play a memory game. What can you see in the picture? How many words do you know? After a minute, have students come to the front and write down the words one by one.

Read and spell these words together.

Look at the photo for a minute again. Ask “Where are they?”. After a minute, ask students some questions,for example:Where is the hat? Is it on the chair? Have students try to answer my questions.

Say the sentences,for example: The keys are on the sofa.

Read and say the sentences together.

Step3:Make conversations

Show a picture to student,model: A:Where’s the photo? Is it under the sofa? B:No,it isn’t. It’s on the sofa.

Have students look at the picture again, encourage them to make conversations with their partners.

Encourage the students to come to the front, point to the picture and role-play the dialog.

Step4:Write

Do you have these things in your room? Where are they? Open your books and turn to page24.Look at 3a,add these words to the form and write.

Ask and answer these questions with your partners.

Write about where the things are in your room.

Look at my passage,let’s read it.Then encourage the students try to write a passage like this.

Homework

Make conversations with your partners.

Write a passage about your room.
