Step1. 2a  Listening and numbering

Look at the pictures on page 20.

T: What’s this in English?

Ss: It’s a bus.

T: Spell it, please.

Ss: B-U-S.

T: What color is it?

Ss: It’s orange.

OK. Let’s listen to the conversations and number the pictures on page 20 (听音排序)

Picture 1=Conversation 3;Picture 2=Conversation 1;

Picture 3=Conversation2;Picture 4=Conversation 4

Step2:2b Listening and circling

First read aloud the names in 2b.

Mike  Tom  Jenny  Bob    Eric  Alice    Jack    Ms. Miller

Next listen again and circle the names you hear.

Now go to read the conversations.

Tony: Hello! What’s your name?

Jenny: My name is Jenny.

Tony: I’m Tony.

Jenny: Nice to meet you, Tony.

Bill: What’s his name?

Maria: His name is Tony.

Bill: And what’s her name?

Maria: Her name is Jenny.

Bob: Excuse me. Are you Mike?

Mark: Yes, I am.

Bob: I’m Bob. Nice to meet you.

Mark: Nice to meet you, too.

Teacher: Good morning, boys and girls. My name’s Linda. What’s your name?

Jim: My name is Jim.

Teacher: And what’s your name?

Jim: My name is Mary.

Write all the useful expressions in your notebook. (抄写短语)

Step3: 2c PAIRWORK 结对活动

In pairs practice the two conversations on page 20. Then act out your conversations.

A: Hello! What’s your name?

B: My name is …

A: I’m …

B: Nice to meet you!

A: What’s his name?

B: His name is …

A: And what’s her name?

B: Her name is …

Step4:2d Role-play the conversations

Listen to the dialogue and ask the students to answer the questions .

How many people are there in the conversation?Who are they?

Read the conversation together and then ask pairs of students to assign a role to each other and practice the conversation.After practicing a few times,encourage them to stand up and act out the conversation with gestures .

Homework: Finish the exercises of Section A.

In this class, most of the class have done well, they can use the drills correctly. But some of them have some difficulty in using the drills, they need time to practice more.
