Instructional objectives:
1. Help the students grasp the main idea of this passage and useful expressions.
2. The students use creative role-play to review and learn vocabulary about accidents.
Emotion and attitude:
1. To improve the students’ ability of co-operation, analyzing the problems and communication in English.
2. To strengthen the students’ consciousness to obey the traffic rules and learn how to protect themselves.

Multimedia, tape and PPT.
Teaching Procedure:
Step 1 Class opening
      1: greeting.
      2: presentation.
Step 2 leading – in
1:  Look at the picture, think about What’s wrong with the boy? What happened?
2:  Come to “Think About It”. Help the students to understand what an accident is? The teacher asks the students the following questions:
Have you ever seen an accident? What happened? Did you help?
What should you do if you see an accident happen?
Step3 start new lesson
1:  Learn some new words.
2:  learn the text：
   I  Listening.
Play the audiotape and ask students to grasp the main idea of the text.
   II  Ask and answer.
Ask the students to read the text themselves while bearing the following questions in mind:
 1 What are they talking about?
2 What does Brian tell Danny to pretend to be?
3 What does Brian tell Danny to do?
   4 Who will pretend to be a reporter?
   III Answer the questions and start to illustrate the text.

3. refuse sth/to do sth 　拒绝某事／去做某事
4. Imperative structures.

       IV Read the text.

1: Read the text in roles and pay attention to how to play the acting.
2: Teach some points related to the acting play.
3: Ask some students to play the acting.
