a. devote one’s life to 献身于

b. devote time to doing sth.花时间做

例句解析：

分析：此题乍一看不知如何下手，弄不清楚此题要考察什么。其实只要学会化繁为简，一切就迎刃而解。首先取其主句弄清要表达的意思，The time is too short.然后再看从句，一看缺少成分，便知是定语从句。接着把time代进去，此句变成：He devoted the time to______.根据所学的固定短语，devote time to doing sth.便知答案应该选D.

3   worthwhile
a. It is worthwhile to do sth.值得做……事情
