Period 1  Comic strip & Welcome to the unit 

一、学习目标:

1.      合作学会下列生单词:

nothing bowl honest secret joy problem magazine good-looking

2. 掌握下列短语:keep secrets, make me happy, share my joy

3.会使用下列日常交际用语:

There’s nothing else in the fridge.

Maybe we can share it.

What makes your friend so special?

Do you talk to him/her when you are happy/sad have problem?

Can you talk to him/her about anything?

Do you believe what he/she said?

4. 通过本课学习,能学会如何描写人物的特点。

二、预习导学:

1. 阅读教材P.2-3。

2.Language points:

( 1 ). some表示“一些”的用法:

⑴some常用于肯定句和肯定回答中;否定句及疑问句中常用any来表示。

⑵some也可用于希望得到肯定回答的疑问句中。如:

①我能再吃些食物吗?

Can I have ________ ________ food?

②你想要喝些牛奶吗?

Would you like _______ milk?

③你想要来一些吗?

Do you want ________?

( 2 ). something to drink 喝的东西      something to eat 吃的东西

  我能要些喝的东西吗?

  Can I have __________ ________ ________?

( 3 ). There’s nothing else in the fridge.

  else在句中修饰不定代词nothing, 作后置定语。

  else作定语时,不能修饰名词,通常用来修饰不定代词something, anything, nothing等,及修饰疑问代词who, which, what等和疑问副词when, where。 else用来修饰这些词时,必须要后置

①—你还有什么要说的吗? —什么也没有了。

    —What ________ do you want to say?  —Nothing ________.

②包里还有其他东西吗?

  Is there anything ________ in the bag?

③他想买其他的东西。

  He wants to buy ________ ________.

[教你一招]other也可以表示“其他的”意思,用来修饰名词,放在名词之前。

他有其他的问题要问。

He has ________ questions to ask.

( 4 ). honest  adj. 诚实的

该词中h不发音,所以它前面的冠词使用an, 类似的还有hour这一词。

( 5 ). friendly是由名词friend加后缀-ly形成的形容词。又如:

  lovely 可爱的,  brotherly 兄弟般的, motherly 母亲般的

( 6 ). funny是由名称fun双写n加后缀-y构成的形容词。又如:

  sunny 阳光灿烂的, windy刮风的,  cloudy多云的, snowy下雪的

( 7 ). make me happy 使我开心

( 8 ). keep secrets 保密

( 9 ). share my joy 分享我的快乐

三、课堂学习:

Comic strip

1.阅读对话,回答问题,检查对kind和share的理解:

What does Eddie give Hobo?

Is there anything else in the fridge?

What does Hobo want?

2.引入分享和友谊的概念,问如下问题:

Are Eddie and Hobo good friends?

Who do you like more? Why?

Welcome to the unit

1.阅读part A,理解语境,完成练习,然后校对答案,纠正错误。。

2.请能力较强的同学讨论一个好朋友需具备的其他品质。

3.朗读part B中所列单词,检查词义理解情况。区别quite important和very important。

4.请同学思考What qualities of a good friend are important to you? 完成练习。

四、自我测评与拓展迁移:

一、        学习目标:

1.复习描述人物外表和性格的形容词,运用形容词描述人物的相貌和性格,了解比较级和最高级的用法。略读课文掌握大意,跳读课文查找细节,能根据关键词和语境猜测大意。

2.重点词汇:

willing , seat , in need , singer , grow up , humour , bored , joke , true , secret , word , anyone .

3.重点语句:

I want to tell you about my best friend Betty .

She is as slim as I am .

We have been best friends for a long time .

She is willing to share things with her friends .

She is ready to help people any time .

She always gives seats to people in need on the bus .

Betty wants to be a singer and travel around the world when she grow up .

He has poor eyesight because of too much computer work at night .

They make him look smart .

I never feel bored or unhappy when he is with me .

I thought of my great friend May when I read your advertisement .

May is a true friend .

She is kind and never says a bad word about anyone .

二、        预习导学:

1.注意培养阅读技巧,抓住关键词,逻辑判断。

2.识记词表中相关的生词,阅读理解课文。

3.语言点:

1)I want to tell you about my best friend Betty .

want to do sth. 想做某事 ,也可以说would like to do sth.

2)She is as slim as I am .

as + adj./adv. + as 和……一样        (用于两者之间的比较)

3) We have been best friends for a long time .

这是一个现在完成时的句子,其谓语动词的结构是have/has +过去分词。表示“做某事已经多长时间了”。

4)She is willing to share things with her friends .

be willing to do sth. 乐意、自愿做某事

5)She is also very helpful and is ready to help people any time .

helpful “有帮助的”,是help的形容词

be ready to do sth. 乐意做某事 。这里ready 不是“准备好的”,而是“愿意”。

6)She always gives seats to people in need on the bus .

in need  “有需要的”

7)travel around the world 周游世界

around the world “全世界”, 同意词组还有:all over the world , in the world

8) grow up 成长 ,长大      grow-up 成年人

9)We may not see each other often by then ,but we will always be best friends .

each other 彼此,互相

learn from each other 互相学习     help each other 互相帮助

10) I have a most wonderful friend called Max .

called 这里是call 的过去分词,意为“被叫做…,名叫…”

11) However , he has poor eyesight because of too much computer work at night .

poor eyesight  视力很差 ;eyesight 视力 ;eyeball  眼球 ;

eyebrow 眉毛 ;eyelash 睫毛

because of “由于”,后面只能加词或词组。而because 后跟句子。

12)make him look smart . 使他看上去很聪明。

make  “使……” 后跟形容词或动词原形。

13)have a goodsense of humour  有良好的幽默感。

14)feel bored 感到无聊   

feel happy/unhappy  感到开心/不开心    feel worried 感到担心

15)knock over   推翻 , 打翻

knock at/on  敲(门或窗)

16) think of   想到 , 想起

think about 考虑

17)When something warries me , I can always go to her .

worry “使……烦恼,使苦恼”  worried 既可以作它的过去式、过去分词,也可以作形容词使用。

4.听录音朗读课文。

三、        课堂学习:

Step 1 . 通过和学生谈论亲戚朋友,复习主要词汇。

Step 2. 全班分成三组,独立阅读课文,每组一篇,并划出其中生词。

Step 3. 板书Appearance 和 Personality两个标题,学生再看课文一遍,找出与标题对应的形容词,并请学生将其写在标题下。

Step 4. 听录音朗读课文。

Step 5.课堂操练,互相问答:

What does he/she look like ? (For appearance)

What kind of person is he/she ? (For personality)

 What does he/she do or want to do in the future ? (For future plans)

四、自我测评:

1.按正确的顺序排列句子,组成对话:
