西風頌(節譯)

在森林中我把豎琴彈弄，

又何妨那落葉繽紛！

正顯露著我那身上的燦斑秋色，

正像狂風旋律中添上深沈的廻響，

甜美而蒼涼，給我猛吹！

呵，你豪邁的精靈，借你的鋒芒，化成我吧，

掃蕩我那腐朽的思維，

掃走枯葉來催生！

憑著我符咒般的詩韻，

又如同那不滅的爐頭吹出的火花，

把我的語言廣播人間！

喚醒那沉睡中的大地，

吹響你的預言！啊西風，

寒冬己過，春天就要來臨！

雪萊(Percy Bysshe Shelley, 1792-1822)，與拜倫、濟慈齊名的十九世紀英國著名抒情詩人。這首西風頌為其代表作，寄情景物來抒發對當時社會的不滿，希望能用自己有力的詩歌化成狂猛的西風，掃蕩世間不平的黑暗，最後一句諭示人們，即使目下是寒冷的冬季，春天就快要降臨。此詩語言精煉，感情豪邁奔放，是英詩中的精品！

Make me thy lyre, even as the forest is:
What if my leaves are falling like its own?
The tumult of thy mighty harmonies

Will take from both a deep autumnal tone,
Sweet though in sadness. Be thou, Spirit fierce,
My spirit! Be thou me, impetuous one!

Drive my dead thoughts over the universe

Like withered leaves to quicken a new birth!

And, by the incantation of this verse,

Scatter, as from an unextinguished hearth

Ashes and sparks, my words among mankind！

Be through my lips to unawakened earth

The trumpet of a prophecy! O, Wind,
