常听人说，判断一位歌手的实力，听听他（她）的演唱会就知道了。十几年前，我第一次在电视里看到玛莉亚凯丽的演唱会，那如丝般的高音，低沉消魂的气声，难以捉摸的海豚音，左右逢源、百转千回、激情万丈、荡气回肠，极富感染力和震撼力，比听磁带要过瘾得多。 

《Hero》是玛莉亚凯丽成名曲目，也是一首砺志经典，90年代大学生的很少人不知道的。《Hero》抒发了一个简单的道理：“只要志向高远，只要努力拼搏，每个人都是英雄。”却并非空洞说教，完全是情感的自然流露，气势磅礴、铿锵有力、高音部分如水银泄地般，一气呵成，饱满通畅，真让人热血沸腾，感觉好象有一股气要从胸膛喷涌而出。当时许多音乐酒吧，都把Hero排为打烊歌曲。校园歌手比赛，许多人翻唱过hero，可见受欢迎程度。翻唱者的水平，包括李玟、张靓颖，无一能与原唱相比，除了技巧上的悬殊，我觉得她们都缺乏玛莉亚凯丽的“大气”。玛莉亚凯丽的大气，来自她不幸的童年、艰难的生活和坎坷的经历，达到一种人歌合一的境界，她是一位当之无愧的“英雄”。这是无法模仿的。

前几天在KFC喝咖啡，又听到了这首熟悉的《Hero》，感动依然，一如十几年前。经典就是经典，绝不会随着时代的变迁，年华的流逝而变味或褪色。连忙回家下载了各种版本的《Hero》，包括最新的《2009Hero》和各种翻唱版。个人感觉，最好的版本应该是玛莉亚凯丽与帕瓦罗蒂的Hero合唱，世界上最好的女声与最好的男声的完美融合，堪称流行与古典的传世绝唱。
