Is the cat climbing the tree? 猫在爬树吗？

 

Jean:  Where's Sally, Jack?

Jack:  She's in the garden, Jean.

Jean:  What's she doing?

Jack:  She's sitting under the tree.

Jean:  Is Tim in the garden, too?

Jack:  Yes, he is. He's climbing the tree.

What's she doing? 她正在做什么？

She's sitting under the tree. 她正坐在树下。

[这两句话是本课当中的主要句型。是现在进行时。现在进行时是表达正在发生的事件或者动作。现在进行时的构成是be+现在分词，所谓的be呢就是与人称代词或者是名词相应的am、is、are，而现在分词一般来说是在动词的原型后面加上ing就可以了。但是也有一些特殊的情况，比如说sit → sitting这个词，它的原型是sit，因为它是以辅音字母t结尾的，而且前面只有一个元音字母i，所以要双写最后一个字母，再加上ing，sitting。]

例句：What's Tim doing?  蒂姆现在正在做什么？

      He's climbing the tree. 他正在爬树。

 

I beg your pardon? [“pardon”这个词我们在第一课就学到过，意思是你没有听清楚别人讲话请别人再重复一便。在本课当中“I beg your pareon”妈妈这样说是因为她不相信自己的耳朵，儿子居然在爬树，所以就又问了一遍。]

Who's climbing the tree? 谁在爬树啊？

Tim is. 是蒂姆。 [“Tim is”是一种省略的说法，如果说全了就是：Tim is climbing the tree.]

例句：Who's making the bed? 谁在铺床啊？

      Amy is. 是艾米。艾米在铺床。

 

What about the dog? 狗在做什么呢 [这是一种省略的说法，为了避免重复。它的意思就是：What is the dog doing?]

The dog's in the garden, too. 狗也在花园里面。

It's running across the grass. 它正在草地上跑呢。 [“run across”穿过，跑过。]

It's running after a cat. 它正在追一只猫。 [“run after”追逐。][请注runnin这个词，它的原型是run，把它变成现在分词的时候呢要双写最后一个字母，然后加上ing。]

  

Sentence patterns 基本句型

 

我们新学习了一个时态，那就是现在进行时。它是表示正在发生的动作或者是事件。

现在进行时是由be+现在分词构成的。

What's he/she/it doing? 他/她/它在做什么？

He/She/It is ...

例句：What's Steven doing? 史蒂文正在做什么？

      He's reading a newspaper. 他正在读报纸。

 

下面我们来看现在分词的构成方式：

1、read → reading;    cook → cooking [一般来说现在分词可以直接在动词的后面加上ing就可以了。]

2、make → making;    take → taking [如果这个单词是以一个不发音的e结尾的话，就要把e去掉，再加上ing。]

3、sit → sitting;    shut → shutting [如果这个单词是以一个辅音字母结尾，前面只有一个元音字母，那么就要双写最后这个字母，再加上ing。]

今天我们学习了一个新的时态，现在进行时。现在进行时是指在说话的时候正在发生的动作或者事件。它是由助动词be加上现在分词也就是doing的形式来构成的。在现在进行时当中动词本身的形式发生了变化，这一点是和汉语不同的，所以我们要经过不断的大量的练习使我们习惯于这一方式。另外复述课文也是个不错的主意，我们可以把课文中的对话变成一段描述性的文字，比如说这一课就可以这样来做：

Jean and Jack are talking about daughter Sally and son Tim.

Sally and Tim are in the garden.

Sally is sitting under the tree.

Tim is climbing the tree.

The dog is in the garden, too.

It is running across the grass.

It's running after a cat.
