Amy:        What must I do, Mrs.Jones?

            Then put these clouthes in the wardrobe.

This bedroom's very untidy. 这间卧室很乱很不整齐。 [“untidy”，tidy是整齐的意思，un是一个否定的前缀，是它的反义词。比如说unhappy，“happy”高兴，“unhappy”不高兴。]

What must I do, Mrs.Jones? 我必需做什么？ [“must”是一个情态动词，它后面接的是动词的原型“do”]

 

Open the window and air the room. 打开窗户给房间通通风。 [“open”在这儿是动词。那么它也可以是形容词，比如说“The window is open.”窗户是开着的。“air”是空气的意思。在这儿做了动词，表示给房间通一通风。]

Then put these clothes in the wardrobe. [“then”然后。put后面加上一个名词再加上一个介词短语，表示把什么东西放到什么地方。]

Then make the bed. 然后铺一铺床，整理一下床铺。 [“make the bed”可不是让你去做一张床，而是铺床的意思。]

Dust the dressing table.掸掉梳妆台上的灰尘。 [“dust”的本意是灰尘，是名词。在这儿它做了动词，掸掉什么什么地方的灰尘。]

Then sweep the floor. 然后请扫一下地。 [“sweep”扫地。如果你要想说拖一拖地，那么就是“mop”，“Mop the floor.”]

这个教学单元的重点是祈使句。祈使句是表示请求、命令、建议等的句子。它是用动词原型来开头的。通过上面的练习我们已经对祈使句非常的熟悉了。不过在日常生活中我们在用祈使句的时候还要注意一点，那就是我们常常会使用“请please”这个词，please可以放在句首，比如说请擦一下黑板“Please clean the blackboard.”。也可以放在句尾，比如说“Clean the blackboard, please.”。用了“please”的祈使句听起来口气上要委婉很多，这点请大家注意。
