理查德·奥尔丁顿（Richard Aldington18921962），英国诗人兼小说家。生于英国朴茨茅思一个律师家庭，童年在多佛和南方海边乡间度过。父亲书房里卷帙浩繁的诗集是他主要的启蒙读物。十七岁时他的第一卷诗集问世。1912年，他参加休姆和庞德在伦敦组织的意象派诗人集团，他是最年轻的一位，很快成为一个重要成员。同年，他娶了美国女诗人杜丽特尔，即H·D，两人一起从事希腊文和拉丁文的翻译；一志对传统诗歌进行具有创见性的抨击；一起创作意象主义新诗，
