should (SURPRISE) used to express surprise in sentences that are in the form of questions: I was just getting off the bus when who should I see but my old school friend Pat!
what should I see but something/who should appear but somebody etc used to show that you were surprised when you saw a particular thing, when a particular person appeared etc你猜我看到了什么/你猜谁来了(用于表示惊讶): Just at that moment, who should walk in but old Jim himself. 就在那里,你猜猜谁进来了?就是老吉姆本人。
