每周的老师来信中谈到本月的PYP的主题:
照顾好自己的身体是自己的责任。
以下中文解释不是翻译,只是针对毛毛需要做的事情。
Dear Primary 1
Parents,
It’s new month and we hope to maintain the pace and enthusiasm we have had with the children so far. We had a wonderful time with the children at the Botanic garden last Friday.
We are still working on our third line of inquiry about our responsibility in taking care of our bodies. Last week we learned about nutrition and making choices, as well as daily hygienic practices including washing hands appropriately. For this week, the school nurse will give a presentation on common first aid for children. We will also focus on finishing up nutrition work we started last week. (卫生以及营养方面是妈妈的特长,配合本周主题,妈妈再强调一些卫生习惯,以及营养的食物,对毛毛应该是有帮助的)
From Chinese perspective, students will learn the main food names of each category of the food pyramid. Students will learn some rhymes about fruits and vegetables. They will also have fruit and vegetable kingdom role play.
毛毛应该喜欢这个环节,据说在给孩子看食物图片时,毛毛的口水都要流下了(至于吗??在家里,他可是给他吃什么都不要的家伙)
In Language Arts, we will move on to consonant blends and continue with our language experience books as well as reading on Fridays.
Before we wind up our theme how we organize ourselves; we will be looking at telling time in math starting this week. We hope the ability to tell time will enable the students get more organized towards task completion and be punctual in other areas. (“如何管理我们自己”的主题,要让孩子举一反三,应用到其他方面,帮助他们能够按时完成任务)。
One of the key elements in PYP is student’s ability to take action. This is usually driven by the learning engagements both in school and at home. For example when the students worked with you on essential agreements at home, have they been keeping them? If not, do they show any effort to stick to the EAs. What about making choices regarding what to eat? Do you parents notice any difference? Do they have reasons for preferring certain foods to other foods? We will rely so much on your written feedback in terms of student actions at home.
需要毛毛采取行动,毛毛现在不喝可乐是一个非常好的开始,但要让他知道,他还做了哪些努力,在哪些方面,他已经在控制自己,做有益他身体健康的选择?不再挑食? 这需要与老师沟通, 当然对毛毛要进行表扬,特别是他每做一项努力。。。口头上表扬,或抱住他,亲一下,都会让他坚持很久。
