【Genesis 7:17,18 李杜圣经札记】

17 洪水泛滥在地上四十天，水往上长，把方舟从地上漂起。 

18 水势浩大，在地上大大地往上长，方舟在水面上漂来漂去。

NIV:

17 For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth. 

18 The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water.

ERV:

17 Water flooded the earth for 40 days. The water began rising and lifted the boat off the ground. 

18 The water continued to rise, and the boat floated on the water high above the earth.

点评：

这两句，可从“水能载舟，亦能覆舟”倒过来理解。大水能冲毁地球上的生命，亦能浮起上帝派来拯救生命的诺亚方舟。

就语言角度而言，两个英文版本里，ERV似更通顺。

和合本中译的这两句，嫌滞重。我喜欢文理本（文言文）《圣经》的语句，尽显中文的简洁，如下：

17洪水泛滥四旬、水势汹涌、舟浮于地。18水愈涨溢、舟溯洄于水面。

读起来有《诗经》的感觉。
